Dear Members,
Despite the excellent progress being made on the clubhouse redevelopment, we recently encountered an unexpected setback with the main club bar fit-out. On Friday, 26th June, the nominated bar fit-out subcontractor advised the club that they were no longer in a position to fulfil the bar fit out element of their contract, despite the considerable time, effort and support provided by members of the Development Committee and Bar Committee, together with our interior designer, throughout the entire process to this sub contractor.
The Development Committee, with Bar Committee members, moved quickly to minimise the impact of this unforeseen development. Within days, a suitable, reputable and experienced replacement contractor was identified, with committee members meeting them at their factory to review the project. We are pleased to report that agreement was reached with the new contractor within the original budget.
As a result of this change, installation of the main club bar has been delayed, with fabrication and fit-out now expected to be completed by the end of August.
In the meantime, every effort is being made to expedite the completion and reinstatement of the main hall which was originally programmed to occur concurrently with the main club bar.
We are using best endeavours for the hall bar to be fully operational in early August, allowing members to enjoy the upgraded facilities while the final bar installation is completed.
