Dear Members, Friends and Supporters,
As my time as President draws to a close at this evening at our AGM, I just wanted to take the time to say a big thank you for the support, effort, giving of your time freely and for some of you, your expertise and advice in various areas over the season. It has been a great honour and privilege for me to be President of Terenure College RFC, our great community club, for the 2025/2026 season. A big thank you to my family also for the support and allowing me to do the role.

It was a season like no other with elements of disruptions both on and off the field - a new and then mid-season change to our coaching ticket, major club works happening and because of the major works a Plan B operational model put in place!
Well done and thanks to all involved
- on the Rugby side of the house for navigating the rugby matters during the season.
- on the Development and Finance side of the house for the professional manner in how this project was planned, financed and is currently running, and for the countless hours of work put in by all to get us to where we are. A big shout out especially to Shane Mallen for his tireless development work and his professionalism during the season and for getting us to this point.
- on the Management and House & Grounds side of the house for the operational planning and execution of our Plan B model while our normal season template or facilities could not be used. The temporary arrangements put in place during the season assisted greatly in facilitating gaps for the interim period.
The club development is a major investment in the future of our club, and while it had temporary downsides, it will be worth it in the end to have a modern welcoming clubhouse with great facilities of which the whole club can be proud and future proofed for those that follow. I am delighted to see us holding the AGM in the club house tonight (@7.30pm) so attendees can see what has been achieved to date.

I would like to acknowledge and thank all of the numerous other volunteers for their work, dedication, service and time given in the running of our great Community Club activities. I won’t name everyone but thanks to our Club Officers, our Management Committee under Chair Maurice Downing, the Finance Committee, the Media Team, the Bar Committee and the Bar Staff, the Sponsorship Team, House & Grounds Team, Carpark Team, Gate Team, Shop Team and our Office teams and anyone I have forgotten to mention without whom our Club could not succeed and who worked hard to ensure that our Club operates day to day. In a club like ours, which is volunteer run, I would encourage all Members to get involved as there are always jobs that we need doing but also to think twice before criticizing anything, or anyone, who is doing a volunteer role. Do not be afraid to put yourself forward at any stage and come part of the solution in making our great Community Club better!
Finally, it gives me great pleasure to hand over my role to the incoming President, Mr John Cadell, and I wish him and his Vice-Presidents and all of the Management and Membership of Terenure College RFC the very best for the season ahead and thanks for the support.
Thank you.
Yours in Rugby,
Thank you.
Yours in Rugby,
