Three new rooms in the changing room block were handed over to the club last Friday 16th January.
The remaining changing rooms are complete, but we are unable to occupy same for a short period of time until a secondary fire escape route through the club lobby is complete and handed over, as stipulated in the recently issued fire certificate by Dublin City Council.
Last week we advised you that great progress has been made in the Hall (Ballroom). This is still the case.
The Hall has been slabbed, painted, radiators installed, lighting installation under way and tiles and sanitary ware for toilets in hall toilets due this week. Flooring is due for delivery and installation towards end of this month.
In our Brief Club Updates of 16th January last, we advised you that we were targeting to get back into the Hall for 27th February.
While the Hall will be complete and it would have been possible for us to take possession on the 20th February, we would have been restricted to a capacity of 100, until a secondary fire escape route was made available – a stipulation of the recently issued fire certificate by Dublin City Council.
Unfortunately, on hearing this capacity restriction, The Management Committee have decided that we will not take partial possession of the Hall in mid-February as hoped.
We are instead seeking handover of Phase 1 (Ballroom, Bar and Lobby, toilets and remaining changing rooms) in one handover in late March / early April 2026, all going well.
