As you know the Club is about to commence the long-awaited development, a once in a generation transformation of our Clubhouse facilities which include building a new Gym with treatment rooms, a new Coffee Shop and redesigning our Bar.
This € 3 million development includes a total upgrade of all mechanical and electrical assets of the club; widening the lane; refurbishments of the dressing rooms; refitting the bar and function room; building our new gym and treatment rooms; building a new club shop and coffee shop.
When this new facility is delivered in 10 months or so, we will have new facility that we can all be proud of, and it should serve the Rugby Club and Community for many years into the future.
There will be short term pain, however !
On Monday 23rd June we must hand over the Club to builders Elenfield Construction, so that they can commence the process of delivering our new renovated Club house.
Unfortunately, from that date on, the bar, function rooms and dressing rooms will be out of action.
The initial works will be internal and will involve the replacement of all electrical and plumbing assets, as the dressing rooms are realigned, result in a loss of electricity and water.
We are aware that construction will bring disruption to all Club Members and visitors to Lakelands.
We are working with the builders to minimise the impact of the build, and we are planning to provide temporary facilities within the next few weeks to enable normal Club life to continue.
We’ll share more details once the builder’s timeline and site plan are finalized.

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you the Bar between now and Sunday, as we need to drink the bar dry.
